RIPPLE, Circuit Judge. This action, commenced by the Illinois Attorney General (Attorney General), alleged that various individual and corporate defendants (Life of Mid America) had engaged in a scheme to defraud (llinois consumers in violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), 18 U.S.C. §Â§ 1961 et seq. and the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act, Ill. Ann. Stat. ch. 121 1/2, PP 261 et seq. (Smith-Hurd Supp. 1986). The district court granted the defendants motions to dismiss. It held that the Attorney General was not the real party in interest, that he lacked capacity to sue, and that he lacked standing to sue. For the reasons set forth below, we affirm.
